Product Description The Norton 40433 Crystolon sharpening steel rod is a 280-grit silicon carbide rod attached to a black plastic and rubber handle for firm grip, suitable for sharpening and maintaining cutting tool edges; it sharpens to moderate tolerances when it is more important to sharpen the blade quickly than to produce a fine cutting edge. The silicon carbide rod in this sharpening steel rod enables it to create a sharper edge than conventional can. This tool is commonly used to restore cutting edges on flat-bladed tools, household utensils, and culinary knives. It stores in a knife block or hangs by its handle for convenient use..
